Collectible fridge magnet of a Sea Otter

Sea Otters (Enhydra lutris) are marine mammals. They are the largest member of the family Mustelidae. Sea Otters inhabit temperate coastal waters with rocky or soft sediment ocean bottoms less than a mile from shore. They are an integral part of the kelp forest ecosystem. Once numbering several hundred thousand to possibly over a million worldwide, their population is now estimated to be between 82,350 and 95,000. In general their fur is brown or reddish brown with light brown fur covering their heads. Sea otter fur is the densest of all mammals, with about 100,000 hairs per square inch. The tail is short comprises less than a third of the body length. Since sea otters do not have any insulating fat the fur is responsible for maintaining warmth.
