Ring-Tailed Lemurs (Lemur catta) inhabit southern and southwestern Madagascar, with an additional population on the southeastern plateau of the Andringita Mountains. Lemurs spend most of their lives in trees, but they also spend considerable time on the ground, moving in a very distinctive hop. The Ring-Tailed Lemur is an average sized lemur, with a height of 15-18” with a tail length of 22-25”. They weigh about 5-7 pounds. The most noticeable characteristic of Lemur catta is its tail, which is black and white. The species takes its common name from this ringed pattern of the fur on the tail. These lemurs have gray or rosy brown backs with lighter gray or brown hind legs and white stomachs. Their faces are also white with triangular black markings around their eyes and black noses.
The magnet measures 2.5” x 3.5” (6.35 x 8.89cm) with a metal shell, mylar/UV protecting cover and flat magnetic back. The artwork is a reproduction of an original line art drawing by wildlife illustrator Roger Hall.
